Spirit of the ANZACs – The Arena Tour, commemorating the ANZAC centenary celebrations, will travel across Australia later this year.
Yesterday, it was announced tickets for the prestigious nation-wide event would go on sale March, 21st.
The tour will include several big-name musical and performing artists like Jack Thompson, Lisa McCune, Lee Kernaghan, John Schumann, Jack Jones, Harrison Craig, and Fred Smith.
The tour will begin in Newcastle of August, 21st before heading to Brisbane, Wollongong, Sydney, Tamworth, Melbourne Adelaide, and Perth.
The show, directed by Vivid Sydney Creative Director Ignatius Jones, will revolve around a musical and theatrical journey, based on the true stories of those serving and loved ones back home.
The story – focusing on letters, diary entries, and stories held at the Australian War Memorial – is set to chronicle the full spectrum of Australians at war between Gallipoli in 1915 to Afghanistan and Iraq today.
The show was inspired by Kernaghan’s new album of the same name, with songs written by him, Colin Buchanan, and Garth Porter.
Kernaghan said the event is a testament to our country’s resilience and proud historical significance.
‘SPIRIT OF THE ANZACS – The Arena Tour is unlike anything I’ve done before. The gravity of these new songs cuts the air like the smoke of a bushfire, a constant reminder of all the courage, blood, love and loss that’s wrapped up in every word. It’s a musical monument.’ Mr. Kernaghan said.
