San Cisco‘s sophomore album Gracetown takes its title from the laid back coastal town in South Western Australia; so what better reason to head back to where it all started?
Currently playing a string of sold out headline shows across the country, as well as packing out tents at the recent Groovin the Moo festival; heading back to the region of the album’s namesake will be an opportunity to play to audiences that hold a special place in the hearts of the band.
Ahead of their Splendour in the Grass appearance, San Cisco will play Settlers Tavern in Margaret River on Friday 17th July and the Bunbury Entertainment Centre on Saturday 18th July, headlining the first birthday edition of Out of the Box + Into the Cube, Bunbury’s newest live music program. Supports will be announced soon. Tickets on sale now.
Reaching number two in its first week of release, Gracetown takes the title from a laid back coastal town in South Western Australia and showcases a more worldly approach to life, exploring the tyranny of love, displacement, homesickness, heartache and heartbreak, via disco, funk, soul and hip hop undertones.
Having enlisted the help of producer and long term collaborator, Steve Schram, this album has a deeper, looser feel that signals a new sophistication and maturity. Less sun and more muted shades, so to speak, as well as a deeper exploration of the ache, paranoia and hormonal rush that is love. The album shows San Cisco growing up, and this growing up is scary and magnificent to behold.
