Brisbanite indie-pop crew, Last Dinosaurs have just released their new single ‘Evie’, a tantalising teaser of what’s to come from their second album’s anticipated post Splendour in the Grass release. Having laid low since the debut release of LP In A Million Years, featuring disco pop bliss and a nostalgia for summers past, the ‘Dinosaurs are back on the scene and making a splash with their latest musical offering to fans.
Kicking off the track with recognisable slick sunny riffs, ‘Evie’ immerses itself into a guitar-heavy plateau of pop. The fast-paced, pop rhythm pioneered by Dan Koyama on drums provides a platform for the synth-filled track and accommodates Sean Caskey’s catchy, lamented lyrics. Invigorating and infectious with perfectionist tendencies often attributed to musicianship, the band has taken their time to serve up this tasty piece of ear candy. What they’ve lacked in timeliness they’ve made up for in an unapologetic pop piece.
