Gunns, 10 October at the Bird
Gunns launched their new single The Fool at the Bird last night to a familiar and affectionate crowd. Supported by stoner punk lads Hideous Sun Demon (if you haven’t seen them perform live yet you are missing out on a significant proportion of the world’s most weird and wonderful dance moves) and the dreamy sounds of Methyl Ethyl (Narcissists on TV gets me every time) (that build is enough to make anyone cry).
Capturing that gritty, beachy melody, Gunns bestowed upon their fans a gnarly mix of oldies, newies, and most importantly their tight new single (which is really really good, I will tell you that for free). Featuring a surfy pop jam of guitars, bass, drums, keyboard and a (presumably?) ironic new ‘HAMJAM SUCKS’ sticker, Gunns reminded us why they have big things in their future. Keep an eye on these guys, they’re definitely going places and we look forward to Perth going with them.

If you missed this single launch, Gunns are playing again tomorrow night, Sunday 12 October at Mojos, so don’t miss out again. Partying with Dream Rimmy, Childsaint, and Long Lost Brothers: this is going to be beautiful.
