EP Review: In Orbit – Innerspace

Kyra Shennan

First things first, The guitar riff from ‘Cure’ reminded me of Nirvana’s ‘Love buzz’ but heavier. I was expecting off- putting screaming. Instead, I was invited to explore Innerspace with cool grunge-metal vocals sung by some chick possibly suffering PMS (some chick A.K.A. Cissi). I can imagine these girls playing at dive bars and practicing in garages. In orbit appeals to the angsty grunger in me, and awakens my need to be in an all-girl rock band. Mean, distortion-heavy guitar riffs and warbling filled the airwaves. The sound is quite full despite there being only two band members. There’s a certain 90s rock feel. The title track even seems Alice in Chains inspired.
