Don’t let the toy trains and crayon drawings fool you – making burgers is anything but child’s play at ‘Missy Moos Gourmet Burger Bar.’
Cheery service and décor scattered with childhood nostalgia; Missy Moos is a happy-go-lucky burger bar. Kids drawings, pinned with alphabet magnets decorate the counter. Colourful plastic watering cans and toy trains are used for table numbers, intricate origami dangle from the ceiling and the menu items are named from various children’s nursery rhymes.
‘Missy Moos Gourmet Burger Bar’ on the tail end of South Terrace, is a quirky little place, much like the rest of Fremantle. Consistently listed online as one of the best burger joints to try, Missy Moos delivers gourmet burgers with quality ingredients.
Run by a mother-daughter team, Missy Moos prides itself on being a family friendly hangout, with a focus on quality and service. Using only the freshest ingredients, Missy Moos serves up a variety of delicious beef, chicken, fish and vegetarian burgers, as well as gourmet toasted sandwiches.
Everything on the menu has a fun nursery rhyme name such as “Humpty Dumpty,” which consists of premium WA lean beef pattie, tasty cheddar, free-range egg, grilled pineapple, beetroot, baby spinach, aioli and Margaret River tomato relish ($15.50). If you like your veggie burgers, Missy Moos does the best version. For vegetarians, definitely order the “Peter, Peter Pumpkin Eater”, a spicy homemade pumpkin, spinach, couscous and butter bean pattie, with aioli and chilli jam; it’s full of flavour ($14.50).
Both burgers were well presented with great and extremely fresh ingredients, assembled with care. None of this gimmicky approach, just damn tasty burgers. Plain and simple where the ingredients are the stars!
