The Silent Sea sweeping away listeners with serene sounds.
By HAZEL MARTIN-McALLISTER
After a year of hard work and constant dedication, local band The Silent Sea have finally released their EP, Blackwood. The work that has been put into the creation of this album is evident in the sound that they have created and has resulted in balmy upbeat tunes that are reminiscent of early 2000s alternative rock music.
The album is titled Blackwood after the Blackwood river down south where they spent many days recording and writing in the small south-west town of Balingup. The music really reflects this inspiration, especially in tracks such as “Not The Same” and “Protector” where general mood has an incredible quality of sounding both tranquil and promoting toe tapping and head bopping. This five piece band are certainly worth checking out as they emerge on the Perth music scene.
Be sure to come along to the launch of this album on the 16th of June at the Civic Hotel, tickets are $15 and the guaranteed quality tunes will certainly warm you up during these colder months!
