If you’re like me and can’t afford tickets to GTM I have a solution for you! Local Perth bands, The Silent Sea and Foxton Kings have got the tunes to cure any festival blues.
By HAZEL MARTIN-McALLISTER
Compared to bands such as Red Hot Chilli Peppers, The Silent Sea are an up and coming band that are assured to get you up and on your feet in not time. The five-piece band originated in North Perth and after competing in and winning multiple competitions in 2016, they are back with some brand new tunes and some oldies as well. Four piece blues/groove band, Foxton Kings are another band that are arising in the Perth music scene and draw influence from legends such as Jack White and Kingswood.
Playing on the 12th of May, these two bands will jump on the Hens House Live stage at Badlands Bar for a night of dancing and positive vibes. Hens House Live is a new local music gig, hosting local Perth bands every Friday and Saturday night with a follow up of awesome DJs. Using this gig as a warm up for their album launch on the 16th of June, The Silent Sea dudes are sure to rock your socks off!
