(Italian Film Festival, 2018)
The 19th Lavazza Italian Film Festival is just a few weeks away and a special opening-night screening has been announced.
To open the nearly month-long festival, the Australian premiere of the highly-anticipated film Loro will be screened at Cinema Paradiso in Northbridge on Thursday 27th September. Head down for an opening gala at 6:15pm for a glass of Prosecco and Connoisseur ice-cream, followed by the screening at 6:45pm and a 9:00pm afterparty at Connections Nightclub!
Tickets are $60 for Palace Movie Club members or $65 for general admission.
Parties and drinks not your scene, or live in the southern suburbs? On the same night, a screening of Loro is also being held at Luna SX in Fremantle. A reception complete with catered food and an immersion into Italian culture will begin at 6:00pm with the film beginning at 6:45pm.
Tickets are $31.50 for Luna Privilege Card holders or $36.50 for general admission.
The film Loro follows the controversial Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi and is the most anticipated Italian film of the year. The project, which was originally split into two parts for its first Italian release will be presented as one epic feature here in Australia. Directed by Academy Award-winning director Paolo Sorrentino, the film is a “dazzling, topical and no holds barred look at life in Italy under the glistening eye of modern Europe’s most infamous politician.”
The Festival itself runs from 27th September through to 17th October, and is sure to be a cultural experience like no other!
This is an event that is expected to sell out sooner rather than later, so make sure you get your tickets while you can!
