Retro Culture releases another single from upcoming EP Wonderland on the Radio.

“Bad Romance”, the new single from Retro Culture, is a synth-pop lover’s heaven. The track taken from upcoming EP Wonderland on the Radio is a modern take on how to write a ballad. It’s as deep and meaningful as it is catchy. The EP releasing on May 23rd, is sure to be a feast to the ears.
Retro Culture is a Melbourne band that not so long ago was the solo project of talented multi- instrumentalist and producer Matt Connelly. With Matt Phillips on guitar, Daniel Boca-Vista on bass/keys and Matthew Hives rounding out the project on drums, Connelly has been able to expand his sound and come out with a solid precursor to the EP. The aptly-named single is an emotional look at a romance that leaves a lot to be desired but is still so hard to walk away from. The song really sucks you in with the emotion in the vocals. The honest lyrics are incredibly relatable for an average twenty-something year old. It’s a tale we know a little too well, staying in relationships we know aren’t the best for us. But it makes it all-the-more meaningful seeing bands like Retro Culture live, and screaming along to every lyric that you are positive was written for you and your bad decisions.
The six track EP also contains singles “Calling” and “Heart Attack”. These songs were fitting samples of what Wonderland on The Radio would become. Fans of The Kite String Tangle and The 1975 will find something to like about Retro Culture. Of “Bad Romance”, Client Liaison said “Sit back, relax and be blown away” and I strongly concur. With over 5 million streams and sold out shows in Sydney and Melbourne, 2017 is set to be a huge year for Retro Culture.
